Bottle Rocket IPA (Portsmouth Brewery)

One of the greatest things about The Portsmouth Brewery is just how accessible they make their fresh beer. You can sit at the bar and enjoy a pint, get a growler to go or go in their retail shop and buy some bombers. They even bottle their specialty beers!

The Bottle Rocket IPA is one of Portsmouth Brewery's staples and that is a good thing. Its great any way its served.

Pours a nice dark apricot color thats clean and clear. The white fluffy head is thick and long lasting. Its a pretty site to behold. Smells citrusy with some sweet fruit and nice fresh hops. Its got a really nice fragrance, nothing dominates and everything comes together very well.

Taste is piney, with a nice malt back and small hints of alcohol (but its only 6.5%). Its crisp, lemony and slightly dry This is a perfect example of a well balanced American India Pale Ale. The predominant hop bitterness melds perfectly with the sweet malt. Definitely one of my favorite IPAs in New England!
