Do you remember where you were when you first tried this beer? For me it was in Boston at the Kinsale about six or seven years ago. After my first sip I knew I had found something that would forever change my taste in beer. It set me on a journey devoted to the almighty hop that lasted quite a few years. I had become a hophead. I was constantly in search of a beer that was basically made of pure hop juice and rarely did I find a beer that could stand up against this one. Thankfully I have become more rounded when it comes to my beer drinking, but I have lots of fond memories of this beer...
Pours a nice orangish amber color with a rather thin head. The smell is absolutely wonderful (and even better from a fresh keg). Strong smell of fresh hops, the smell that draws you in and makes you instantly wonder "God, please make this beer taste as great as it smells!". I have always wondered how Dogfish Head delivers that super strong hop smell in a bottle better than most other breweries.
The taste is very full of fresh hops with a strong smell of grapefruit and other citrus. Its spicy with a nice tangy sweetness (something has to balance all that hop taste). I am not sure, but I think the bottled version of the 60 Minute has changed slightly over the years as the production has grown. Its still a great beer and one of the best IPAs around don't get me wrong, I think its just a little less "raw" compared to when it was brewed years ago. Its bigger brother, the 90 Minute is also one hell of an outstanding IPA.

Believe it or not, I found two cases of this awsome beer sitting in my alley on a cloudy Sept. day. After a bit of door knocking, I found out that the guy who tossed it had won it at work. "I like beer as much as anybody, but give me my Bud over this crap any day. Hell, I'd drink Bush before I'd drink this crap!" he said! Typical Florida redkneck!
So... my fridge is well stocked, and I'm a happy... no... HOPPY guy!
